Building on V1.0, this new version expands the scope with additional environmental impact categories and circularity metrics, strengthening the industry’s ability to assess and exchange sustainability data at scale.
What’s new in V2.0:
Sustainability Guideline: expanded environmental impact coverage
- Eutrophication (terrestrial, freshwater, marine)
- Particulate matter
- Ionising radiation
Circularity Guideline: added circularity metrics
- CO₂-based content (CCU)
- Waste disposal metrics
These additions complement the existing framework (PCF, resource use, water, acidification, ozone impacts, circular content metrics & chain of custody), providing a more complete and robust picture of product sustainability and circularity.
