Consultation DMP 0.9

Once again:

Chem-X request for feedback

Digital Material Passport version 0.9

Background

Chem-X is the key to a transparent and circular chemical industry. With Chem-X, we want to address the need for a seamless exchange of product information in the value chain across industries. Thereby, we want to enable compliance with different regulatory requirements, support circular business models and increase competitiveness.

Within the chemical industry, we want to help companies creating a Digital Material Passport (DMP). A DMP captures information on chemicals which constitute a final product that is regulatory required to have a Digital Product Passport (DPP).

The DMP 0.9

The consultation comprises two documents.
The first is a summary document outlining the strategic framework, technical milestones, and cross-industry guidelines established by our consortium. The second is a JSON package containing the corresponding machine-readable data.

Please note that these are working documents. We will continue to develop them and will publish version 1.0 DMP at the end of the Chem-X project.

DMP 0.9 - Summary Document

This summary document outlines the strategic framework, technical milestones, and cross-industry guidelines established by our consortium. As an open-source initiative, our goal is to provide a public blueprint for a digitized, resilient, and climate-neutral raw materials sector. We invite our partners, global stakeholders, and the wider public to explore these foundations and join us in shaping a transparent, sustainable, and prosperous industrial future.

JSON Package

The Chem-X Data Models provide a common, machine-readable language for exchanging product, material, sustainability and compliance data across the chemical value chain. Release 0.9 defines the Digital Material Passport (DMP). It covers material declarations (substances, mixtures, hazard classification, CLP labelling), sustainability data such as the Product Carbon Footprint, and circularity content including recycled, biogenic and CO₂-based shares with Chain of Custody. The package contains JSON Schemas, 30 SKOS vocabularies and fictitious examples with interactive HTML views. Version 0.9 is a pre-release, so breaking changes remain possible before 1.0.
